A waterproofing system is only as good as what it is stuck to. If the old membrane, adhesive residue or contaminated screed is still there, the new system is bonded to a failure waiting to happen, and the warranty conversation that follows is not one anyone enjoys.
So the removal is not a demolition job with a broom at the end. It is surface preparation, and the standard is set by the incoming waterproofer, not by us.
